Grand Bahia Principe Coba Reviews

Apple holiday
A marvelous week spent in a wonderful hotel! This is an excellent hotel with wonderful landscaping, awesome restaurants, the most courteous and helpful personnel, and we'll surely be coming back! It is two hours from the airport however no reason to leave when you arrived with shopping and nightly shows right there. Vacationbay could not have made the vacation any smoother and even had two marvelous supper events just for apple travelers. Check out Grand Bahia Principe Coba, you will not be disappointed! And if you're able to get in building 23 you are going to be close to everything!

Love, love, liked!
Fantastic hotel! Okay cafeterias, great supper/restaurant options (even though get your bookings early or you will miss out! ), amazing beverages! The pool bar was our favourite. Only downfall, if you're able to Call it that, is how gigantic this hotel is. There are trolleys every few minutes, which help however it's quite simple to get lost. Particularly after a few beverages :) honestly traveled in November 2013 however it will not let me add that date lol

Paradise!
It was the finest vacation south I have ever experienced. Suites were wonderful, mini bar was well filled, personnel were courteous and supportive, cuisine and beverages were tasty and there was so much going on constantly. The swimming pools were pristine and even with a big group we never had too much trouble finding seats. In spite of the fact that it's a big hotel, it is simple and fast to get around thanks to the trolleys. We went into riviera Maya and to Akumal shore as we will. Neither let down! I can not suggest this place enough, we are going to be back!

Pristine week
Newly stayed at Grand Bahia Principe Coba and had a great time. This appears like a big hotel however after you get used to it, everything is in short a short walk. All over was remarkably spotless and the personnel were really courteous and happy. Our company of seven wishes we could come back already.

Excellent scuba diving.
I wished to rate this four and a Half Stars since it is really too large. However it has a lot going for it. We got an excellent deal on hotwire. The great: the meals were really nice. Always food to eat at the cafeteria's mexican corner. My vegan teen found a ton of selection. We had a bite at the tulum's cafeteria too and loved that better due to the environment and service. The coba's cafeteria has a shopping centre vibe. The shore was alright. It's thinner than playcar's shore. The kelp was crazy when we first got there- going from shore to about fifty feet out, however they slowly selected in up and after the day of our arrival it was not so terrible in front of the Coba shore. The Tulum shore, but, was pretty terrible the whole week, and it smelled. I had initially wished to stay there due to the closeness to the sea, however was grateful that I did not spend the additional $700 dollars. I'd have been sorely let down. The shore in front of the Akumal was spotless. There were often seats at the shore as there was a ton of coming and going. The Catamaran was simple to get. They had informed us that we had to be there by ten am to reserve however we never got there before twelve and got a boat daily, likewise with the pedal boats. The scuba diving was amazing. We saw a Turtle, a few French angels, four different types of rays, and an enormous barracuda, along with some cute, small coral reef fish. The Coral and clarity are great. The greatest scuba diving was by the exit flag to the boat lane. It's a little bit deeper there and has more Live Coral. The greatest thing to do is start at the Pier over on the Akumal shore and let yourself float down breeze to the end. We did not wear flippers or shore footware, however we're strong swimmers. We went scuba diving two times a day since it was so simple and close. Really, it was about as great as Akumal…less Turtle sightings, though. We did hike to the next Cove two times, which was pretty cool. Bring footware, and perhaps some water if you would like to stay. The scuba diving was average, but the Cove was wonderful. Just keep going past the Akumal and Sian kahn shorelines. It's really close and worth the hike to get off the hotel. We did not see any performances, so I can not comment. The evening bars were pretty pleasant both in the Coba and Tulum lobbies. They honestly supply top shelf liquor without having to ask. The specialty restaurants were alright, however really challenging to get into to. We only reserved two since the only bookings were after 9:30. We did the greek and the mexican. Both were okay. I'd have reserved others, however there was nothing available. The suite was huge and pleasant. We could have a king size bed and a rollaway and still have more than enough room (with two adults and two teen/tweens) for some reason, we got upgraded to the Golden level. I'm not sure why since we had a really discounted rate, however I did not whine. That gets you bath robes and special bar/main foyer and chocolate kisses before Bed. It's more than likely not worth paying for, however I did use the bar/main foyer a lot as it was not too far from the suite. The first suite we had was on the first floor of block 28. It was so full of bugs that after we spent an hour or two killing them and after the the personnel sprayed, they were still going at us. I would never seen anything quite like it. I got to the Golden main foyer and they moved us. I presume that is an issue with that building and that is why we got "upgraded. " we moved to the 2nd level of 29 without any bugs. Stay away from 28. I think they were coming in from the cracks in the washroom. The con: this hotel is huge. Though you can walk from the main foyer to the shore, it's pretty far and you gotta take carts to get to the other restaurants. We were not far from the hotel foyer however I could see that some folks were. This is correct for the Tulum as well. The walk from the shore to the cafeteria for lunch was Long and hot. The shore sandwich station was a little yucky, however closer. I felt like there was a ton of huffing it to get to spots. Paradise help you if you forgot something in the suite. The Coba is far from the shore, you can not just walk out there when you get up or head out after supper. That was a disappointment. There were a ton of Americans there and I favour some more of a mix of folks. There was certainly a disney land vibe to it. All the "no topless" signs at the swimming pool were stupid and awkward. I do not go topless, however I completely do not care if other females do, just common American oafishness. However if you can not bear to see folks topless, the main swimming pool is safe. The swimming pools were okay. I only went to them on my way back from the shore. Our children are older, so we spent our whole time near the ocean. I did spot that everybody has their towels out reserving spots by 8 AM. The children area looked really fun for children about 10 and Under. So to recap. The terrible things were the distance to the shore, the largeness of the resort and the disney land/Americana feel. As I said, there was so much kelp at the Tulum shore that it would not have been better to stay there. The scuba diving was excellent and the suites were pleasant. They completely appeared to have more kelp issues than the other spots we went to (the Cove next door and Akumal community shore). The hospitality was great and the personnel was basically lovely. We had a pleasant time. I think if I had a ton of money to spend I May have enjoyed the Akumal resort better.

Had an amazing time in this hotel. Luisa noriega at the premier main foyer is the most outstanding agent to see if any issues arise. We had a Travel problem and she straightened out so we could return home worry free. Thanks again luisa for all you did
College week trip
Reserve the optional restaurants when you arrive. Oriental steak house is excellent! The aquatics personnel are really informed and supportive. If you have ever had an urge to swim with a dolphin, you can do that here. The hotel is enormous - a few thousand acres - and the Golf Club is marvelous. Trolleys run regularly; truly is the only way to get around the Property.

Awesome resort and amenities
We had an amazing vacation at the pounds Coba. The hotel is huge there is lots to do and littles shuttles that take you throughout the hotel. The only downside we thought was the cafeteria. The meals were awesome but the restaurant was gigantic and by the time you returned to your table the meals were lukewarm. We can't see how this can be remedied as it is down to the sheer size of the restaurant. If you walk to the specialist restaurants, across from them there is a smaller main foyer with a small restaurant where we had our breakfasts. It was a lot better there as you were close to everything and no lineups at the egg station. We'd walk to the shore this way and it was a pleasant stroll after brunch. The personnel were really smoooth and courteous, always wanting to have a chat with you. Particularly at the bar on the ocean in front of the Tulum resort. If you are wondering of booking this resort you won't be let down. Tip. Book your specialists restaurants after checking in and before going to your suite. We did and used all ours, it took 5 minutes and it's at the side of the reception. If you leave it you May not get the ones you want.
